This is where I try to convince you wear at least one of these trendy items this summer. And thanks to our first Kultoure issue I might just have you putting on more than just one item from this list.

The items I am about to share are a rendition of something you already own.

BROWN ON THE COLOR WHEEL

Colors play an essential part in our day-to-day life, not to mention in our wardrobe. With that being said, why dont we talk a little bit about colors, specifically brown tones. I will explain how brown colors are paired and how it works on the color wheel. Firstly, we have three primary colors which consist of red, yellow and blue. And our secondary colors which consist of orange, green and violet. Now, when talking about brown colors, this is where we mix colors together to get our brown tones. Normally, if we think brown, we think of a dark orange, correct? But, in actuality to get brown we dont even use orange, we mix all the primary colors mentioned above and get brown. Now, I know it would just be easier to use a little bit of black and orange to get brown, but how cool is it that red, yellow and blue and get brown? I’d say that’s pretty mind blowing. Here, let’s have a look at an illustration on how brown tones are made.

Secondly, we’ll have a look at what colors, other than black and white, that go well with brown.

1. Blue. Now blue is one of the primary colors that contribute to making brown, so of course, its going to mesh well with it. It just looks like a breath of fresh air, very subtle and calming. See below.

2. Pink. We all know Gretchen Weiners made fetch happen. First time I saw brown and pink work, was from Mean Girls. She paired a pink cute sweater with a light brown patterned skirt.

Sorry Regina but, she made it happen

3. Green or Mint Green. I think going with subtle pastel colors, is a great choice when pairing anything with brown. Thus making it easier to choose an outfit, with that being said, I think you get the point on how brown can be incorporated in our everyday fashion style.

1.Brown and Earthy Tones

Think Morocco, it’s warm inviting, friendly shades. Now imagine that autumnal hue with your skin tone, it’s undeniably rich and beautiful. In understanding if brown in its self is too dark for you, feel free to choose a lighter shade on the earthy spectrum. Thank you, Kim Kardashian, for opening the door, I will be joining @ndahafa_leena, @disney.andreas, @taimi_nuuyango and @sirenga.na

2.BARE AND BLAZER

Okay not actually bare, more like bralette/ sportsbra with a blazer, we are a somewhat modest nation after all but I’d be a fool to ignore the fact that we also drive the “I wear whatever I want” vehicle. So, wear whatever you please, just remember to throw a bralette underneath that blazer. Quick note a leather jacket will do just fine. @_talah, @twinfluncers and most western personals have given Carrie Bradshaw’s ‘00s peekaboo moment a chic profile.

3.MORE PANTS

During the month of May 2021, Both Kendall Jenner and Bella Hadid wore pants every day for 2 weeks straight, that meant something right? Or maybe they simply sought comfort. Either way they looked amazing. I know what you are thinking “work pants, not this again” but hear me out: pants have basically become the new jeans in the fashion world, versatile enough to be worn with everything from sweatshirts to cutout / crops tops of course. See @__ndapanda, Kendall Jenner, Bella Hadid & Jasmine Took

4. MINI SKIRTS

Mini Skirts have been around since the ‘60s, we know that the mini skirt never really left the streets, therefore it would be a crime not to have it on this list. However, you like it; pleated skater skirt/ tennis skirt, we approve of the mini skirt. It’s safe to say that both @_by_tala, @_talah (two different accounts), Rihanna and Zoë Kravitz- all love the mini just as much as we do.

5.GOLD ACCESSORIES

Why not add something golden to the transitioning seasons we face? This one might be for me, because if I am being honest the accessories, I wore during those last-minute zoom meetings are old and rusted, it’s time to invest in gold accessories- From charming gold pendants; charty hoops; chain necklaces; slender bangles and sultry rings, I’ve curated an aesthetic vision, thank you Pinterest, our reader might just join me on this new journey. Trust me, gold is not ephemeral.

I look forward witnessing your trendy picks. As we experience curfews and lockdowns, may we not restrict our expressions through fashion, for the COVID 19 pandemic will be recorded in history and may our generation be remembered for our strength in style. Make sure to tag us on instagram @kultouremagazine to be featured, or use the hashtag #kultouremagazine.
