Born and raised in Tsumeb, Namibia, Atuya Shilula has been a fashionista ever since she can remember.

“I’ve always had a passion for fashion, I have my own sense of style.” Says Shilula who currently runs her own boutique based on her style and the clothes she likes to wear.

“I used to travel out of the country just to buy the clothing and I would resell the pieces through my instagram page, @atuya_imports.” She recalls.

Vintage clothing, which is what Atuya Imports is based on, has become a huge part of the fashion industry and Namibian fashionistas and influencers hopped on the train as well.

From denim wear, bohemian, hippy or sixties mod, Atuya Imports caters for all.

Like any other business, it’s not all sun and no rain.

Shilula says that there has been many difficulties but she congratulates herself on how she was able to tackle every hurdle that she faced.

Shilula spoke about future plans and even a possibility of expansion, she says that the business is doing very well and although she is a jack of all traits and has many other responsibilities on her plate, Atuya Imports has been her main source of income and through this she has managed to put bread on her table.

“Atuya Imports” has already expanded and Shilula now has a fixed area where she sells her clothing from. They are currently based at Brewers Market in Windhoek, and operates from Mondays – Saturdays.

“Interested customers can simply visit our Instagram page, @atuya_imports.” She says.

Switch up your style with Atuya Imports today and turn heads, effortlessly.
